The TL-X XL lamp (tube diameter 38mm) has an extended life and features an internal ignition strip for starter-free electromagnetic operation or high-frequency operation without preheating. In combination with a special lamp holder, all possible spark effects during ignition are prevented. This lamp is used in fireproof and extra protected fixtures for both indoor and outdoor applications such as the (petro-)chemical industry, offshore, mining and any location where traces of explosive gases may be present.
